'BURNT OUT OR BROKEN DOWN'
BY DR MARK DINWOODIE
10th October 2019 REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT
Mark Dinwoodie was a Bath GP, a clinical assistant in Cardiology at the RUH and until last year Director of Education at the Medical Protection Society (MPS). Amongst other programmes, he has been involved in developing and delivering the MPS Building resilience and avoiding burnout workshop which has been delivered to Doctors and Dentists in the UK and internationally.

Mark will deliver the presentation “Burnt out or Broken down” reflecting concern about rising levels of burnout amongst Doctors, Dentists and other healthcare professionals. Much of the focus for addressing burnout to date has been on the need to develop individual resilience and promote well-being.

Mark will deliver a range of insights on these important topics and consider whether the emphasis for the prevention and mitigation of burnout needs to shift more towards a unit or organisational approach.

RESILIENCE:  YOU CAN'T QUACK ME I'M A RUBBER DUCK
27th April 2020 REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT

Civilian and Military trauma is very different.  It is difficult to prepare for the type of cases encountered on a 'hot' deployment when you are not sure what other specialists are present, how long evacuation chains are and multiple casualties frequently outnumber available resources.

The pressure is high, so how do we cope?

A series of clinical cases will be presented and strategies will be discussed.
